House Report
Annie Rose had the walls and ceiling dry walled in the small upstairs bedroom. As a gift in honor of Annie’s 50th Birthday, Amy Potts and her children Evan Lacke, Laura Torres, and Anna Lacke, had the electric updated in that room and had a new window air conditioner installed. Three of four of the LM bedrooms are now air conditioned, which should make summer visits much more pleasant.
There was a Big 50th Birthday Bash held at the Lone Mountain House for Annie. Friends and family from all over the country came to party! It was a weekend of boating, golfing, and bluegrass, and there is no question that “a good time was had by all!”
The House remains in pretty good shape. There is an ongoing problem with our new roof with some leaks around the chimneys. Right now we are preventing leaks with huge bags around the chimneys, but finding a permanent solution is at the top of the agenda for 2017.

Club Report
We will look back on 2016 as a transitional year. Now that the Club is in it its eighth year, the need for some restructuring became evident, especially as far as fundraising is concerned. The Club has not raised enough money from dues and donations for several years. Because there has been no direct connection between how much money a member invests in the LMH and how much equity they acquire, it has become obvious that better incentives are needed in order to raise funds and encourage members to maintain their memberships from year-to-year.
Discussions among Board Members began mid-year about revising the Bylaws to establish those incentives. The draft and revision process left too little fundraising time, so the annual Membership Drive did not occur in any formal way; thus, donations were way down for 2016. But as it happened in 2016, an event transpired that saved the day! Anne Rose held her 50th Birthday Bash at Lone Mountain. In lieu of gifts, Annie asked her friends (there are tons of them) to donate to the Lone Mountain House. $650 was donated in all, and it was much needed!
Those of us who knew and loved her, will be happy to know that Annie’s mother Sharron was able to attend the big party, despite an ongoing illness. Sharron died in late September, and in her memory Anne made a generous donation to the LMH late in the year. (Sharron loved Lone Mountain dearly and would be very pleased!)
In December as Bylaws revisions were wrapping up, Doug Perkins was chosen as Chairman of the Board as the Directors discussed and later voted on the new Club Payne Bylaws.
The Board of Directors looks forward to implementing new Bylaws in 2017, and hopes for good results.
