House Report
Visitors
Amy Potts had a long June visit to the LM House. The main purpose was to be there on June 20 – marking exactly one hundred years since her father, Roger, was born in the homeplace. To celebrate, Amy made a pot of soupbeans and some cornbread. She may or may not have tried some cornbread and buttermilk.
Joining Amy for the birthday dinner were Tom and Phyllis Jennings. Tom is the son of Archie Jennings, and the grandson of Uncle B Jennings. Tom is the owner of all Uncle B’s land, which originally belonged to the first Anderson Marion Jennings in Lone Mountain and was passed down through his male line. The land is between Mabetown Road and Lone Mountain Road.
As a reminder, our earliest Lone Mountain Jennings ancestors were Hezekiah and Sarah (Johnson) Jennings. They had one son: Anderson Marion Jennings, who had three sons, one of whom was Anderson Marion, Jr., who went by the name “Zan.”

Zan and his wife, Sarah Hodges had ten children. One of their sons was William Bybee Jennings, aka “Bee” and one of their daughters was Sallie A.M. Jennings who was called “A.”

Amy stayed through early July to spend time with her son Evan Lacke and his family as they visited Lone Mountain. A family friend joined them and they had great fun on the lake!

Later in the year were visits by Ann Rose and her friends, as well as David Rose and Mary Kay Stark.

Judy and Rufus Breckenridge also visited at the LMH and enjoyed time on Norris Lake.

Margaret Chumley Schneider, who is now living in the Tazewell area, also visited the LMH with her family, sons James and Matt, daughter, Shannon and her son Dean.

The House
The Club replaced the old gold sleeper sofa in the living room and purchased a new sofa, had some junk hauled away, and put rock all around the house to buffer the new house skirting from weed-wackers!
Margaret planted two apple trees and has worked hard to keep them watered. It seems appropriate, as our grandmother, “A,” kept an orchard on the property as well.
